F-gas and TM44 compliance

Leak checks, record keeping, energy inspections and safe refrigerant recovery so your systems stay on the right side of the law.

F-gas leak checks and records

An F-gas leak check is a legally required inspection of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment containing fluorinated gases at or above 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent. A certified engineer checks the system for leaks at set intervals — at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes, every 6 months from 50 tonnes, every 3 months from 500 tonnes — and the operator must keep records.

Guide price: from £145 per visit, first system, ex VAT. See F-gas leak checks prices.

TM44 air conditioning inspections

A TM44 inspection is the air conditioning energy assessment required for systems with a combined effective rated output above 12 kW. In England and Wales the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations require one at least every five years, carried out by an accredited air conditioning energy assessor, who produces a report with recommendations to cut energy use. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own equivalent requirements.

Guide price: from £395 per building, ex VAT. See TM44 inspections prices.

Decommissioning and refrigerant recovery

Air conditioning decommissioning is the safe shutdown and removal of a system: the refrigerant is recovered into certified cylinders by an F-gas certified engineer, pipework is made safe, the units are removed and disposed of as waste electrical equipment, and the paperwork is provided for your records.

Guide price: from £245 per system, ex VAT. See decommissioning prices.
