Ventilation and air quality
Fresh air, heat recovery, fan coils and air handling units that work alongside your air conditioning.
Commercial ventilation
Commercial ventilation brings outdoor air into a building and removes stale air, using fans and ductwork to supply and extract air at the rates needed for the number of people and the activity. It is separate from air conditioning, which heats and cools air but does not on its own provide fresh air.
Guide price: from £2,950 per system, ex VAT. See commercial ventilation prices.
Heat recovery ventilation (MVHR)
Heat recovery ventilation (MVHR) supplies fresh air and extracts stale air through a unit with a heat exchanger, which transfers much of the heat from the outgoing air to the incoming air. It provides continuous fresh air while recovering much of the energy that simple extract ventilation would waste.
Guide price: from £4,950 per unit installed, ex VAT. See heat recovery ventilation prices.
Fan coil units
A fan coil unit (FCU) is a heating and cooling terminal unit, usually hidden in the ceiling, that blows room air across coils fed with chilled and hot water from central plant. Fan coils are common in multi-let offices and hotels, where each unit serves a zone with its own controls.
Guide price: from £65 per fan coil serviced, ex VAT. See fan coil units prices.
Air handling units
An air handling unit (AHU) is a large central unit that filters, heats, cools and moves air through a building's ductwork, often with heat recovery. AHUs serve offices, schools, hospitals and retail units and need regular filter changes, belt or motor checks, coil cleaning and damper and control checks.
Guide price: from £245 per unit, per visit, ex VAT. See air handling units prices.
