What to think about in Caerphilly
Refrigerant rules
Since 1 January 2025, new single split systems holding under 3 kg of refrigerant in Great Britain cannot use refrigerant with a GWP of 750 or more — in practice, R32 or lower.
Roof and height work
Flat roofs, high walls and atriums need the right access equipment and edge protection. We plan towers, MEWPs or scaffold before the job, not on the day.
One outdoor unit, many rooms
Multi-splits save wall space but share a single compressor. For server rooms or critical spaces we recommend dedicated systems.
Conservation areas
Historic streets and listed buildings in and around Caerphilly are more likely to need planning permission for outdoor units on visible elevations. We check with the local planning authority before work is booked.
Who we work with in Caerphilly
- Warehouses and industrial: cooling for offices, mezzanines, control rooms and temperature-sensitive areas.
- Gyms and leisure: high-capacity cooling and fresh air for gym floors, studios and changing rooms.
- Pubs and bars: cooling for busy bars, function rooms and cellars, sited with neighbours in mind.
- Healthcare and dental: clean, quiet cooling for surgeries, clinics, dental practices and care settings.
Compliance in Wales: refrigerant work falls under GB F-gas rules, and buildings with more than 12 kW of air conditioning in total need a periodic energy inspection (often called TM44).
