The steps for a project in Dumfries and Galloway
Measure
We measure the opening and check wind exposure and existing heating.
Select
The right width, air velocity and heat source are chosen.
Install
The unit is mounted and connected to power, water or refrigerant. We keep work areas in Dumfries and Galloway screened and tidy at the end of each day.
Set up
Door contacts and controls are set so it runs only when needed.
Local points to consider
Heat source
Heat pump air curtains are usually cheaper to run than electric ones.
Neighbours and noise
Outdoor units near flats — common above shops — need careful siting so noise at neighbours' windows stays low. We choose positions and quieter units with that in mind.
Controls
Door contacts stop the unit running when the door is closed.
Leased premises
If your Dumfries and Galloway premises are leased, the landlord's written consent is usually needed for external units, wall penetrations and roof access. We provide drawings and data sheets for the request.
Types of premises we cover in Dumfries and Galloway
- Restaurants and cafés: dining rooms that stay comfortable next to a hot kitchen and a busy service.
- Warehouses and industrial: cooling for offices, mezzanines, control rooms and temperature-sensitive areas.
- Retail and shops: comfortable shop floors, stockrooms and entrances, even with the door open.
Compliance in Scotland: refrigerant work falls under GB F-gas rules, and systems with an effective output of 12 kW or more need a periodic energy inspection (often called TM44).
