Points to plan for in Eltham
Sizing
The curtain should cover the full door width and reach the floor at the right velocity.
Conservation areas
Historic streets and listed buildings in and around Eltham are more likely to need planning permission for outdoor units on visible elevations. We check with the local planning authority before work is booked.
Exposure
Windy entrances need more powerful units or a lobby.
Neighbours and noise
Outdoor units near flats — common above shops — need careful siting so noise at neighbours' windows stays low. We choose positions and quieter units with that in mind.
Typical premises in Eltham
- Retail and shops: comfortable shop floors, stockrooms and entrances, even with the door open.
- Warehouses and industrial: cooling for offices, mezzanines, control rooms and temperature-sensitive areas.
- Restaurants and cafés: dining rooms that stay comfortable next to a hot kitchen and a busy service.
In England, systems holding 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent of refrigerant or more fall under GB F-gas rules, with regular leak checks and records; buildings with more than 12 kW of air conditioning in total also need a periodic energy inspection.
