The steps for a project in Pontypridd
Survey and route
We check void depths and plan routes for supply and return ductwork. For sites in Pontypridd we confirm access and parking beforehand.
Design the air side
Grille sizes and positions are chosen for even air flow and low noise.
Install unit and ducts
The unit is hung with access for servicing; ductwork and grilles are fitted.
Balance and commission
Air flows are measured and balanced, then the system is commissioned.
What to think about in Pontypridd
Return air
Every ducted unit needs a return air path; we design it rather than rely on gaps under doors.
Roof and height work
Flat roofs, high walls and atriums need the right access equipment and edge protection. We plan towers, MEWPs or scaffold before the job, not on the day.
Void depth
Low-profile ducted units can fit voids of around 250 mm, but ductwork adds depth. We measure the route as well as the unit position.
Conservation areas
Historic streets and listed buildings in and around Pontypridd are more likely to need planning permission for outdoor units on visible elevations. We check with the local planning authority before work is booked.
Typical premises in Pontypridd
- Hotels and hospitality: quiet bedroom units, public-area cooling and heat recovery for hotels.
- Warehouses and industrial: cooling for offices, mezzanines, control rooms and temperature-sensitive areas.
- Restaurants and cafés: dining rooms that stay comfortable next to a hot kitchen and a busy service.
- Pubs and bars: cooling for busy bars, function rooms and cellars, sited with neighbours in mind.
In Wales, systems holding 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent of refrigerant or more fall under GB F-gas rules, with regular leak checks and records; buildings with more than 12 kW of air conditioning in total also need a periodic energy inspection.

Low-profile units can work in around 250–300 mm, but the duct route often needs more. We measure at survey.
