Air conditioning for offices
Offices are one of the most common places businesses add air conditioning. Dense desks, screens, lighting and glazing make most offices too warm for much of the year, while meeting rooms swing from empty to packed in minutes. We design zoned systems so each area can be controlled on its own, with dedicated cooling for the comms room.
Common challenges
- Meeting rooms that overheat when full
- South- and west-facing glazing
- Comms rooms that need 24/7 cooling
- Landlord approvals and lease terms
- Working around staff during installation

Questions from offices
What is the best air conditioning for an office?
For offices with a suspended ceiling, ceiling cassettes or ducted units on a split or VRF system are the usual choice, with meeting rooms zoned separately. Small offices can use wall-mounted splits.
Can air conditioning be installed while the office is open?
Yes. We phase work by area and do noisy work early, late or at weekends.
Do we need ventilation as well?
Usually. Air conditioning does not bring in fresh air; offices also need ventilation to meet the Building Regulations.
