How a job in Lichfield works
Check the void
We confirm void depth, grid size and any obstructions such as beams, sprinkler pipes or ductwork. For sites in Lichfield we confirm access and parking beforehand.
Set positions
Cassettes are placed against the lighting and grid layout so air reaches the whole space.
Hang and connect
Units are hung on drop rods, connected to pipework and the condensate line.
Test and commission
The condensate pump is water-tested, the system pressure tested and charged, and air directions set.
Local points to consider
Ceiling grid
Compact cassettes drop into a 600 mm grid; full-size units need the grid adapting around a larger panel.
Access and parking
Town-centre jobs in Lichfield often come down to access — loading restrictions, parking for the van and getting equipment onto a roof. We check this at survey and plan deliveries around it.
Void depth
Compact cassettes typically need around 250–300 mm of clear void; larger units need more. We measure before quoting.
Roof and height work
Flat roofs, high walls and atriums need the right access equipment and edge protection. We plan towers, MEWPs or scaffold before the job, not on the day.
Types of premises we cover in Lichfield
- Restaurants and cafés: dining rooms that stay comfortable next to a hot kitchen and a busy service.
- Retail and shops: comfortable shop floors, stockrooms and entrances, even with the door open.
- Salons and spas: comfortable salons and treatment rooms despite dryers, lamps and steam.
- Healthcare and dental: clean, quiet cooling for surgeries, clinics, dental practices and care settings.
Compliance in England: refrigerant work falls under GB F-gas rules, and buildings with more than 12 kW of air conditioning in total need a periodic energy inspection (often called TM44).
Questions about ceiling cassettes in Lichfield
How much does a ceiling cassette cost in Lichfield?
Guide prices in Lichfield run from about £2,150 to £4,950 per cassette, plus VAT. A typical job (shop or restaurant with 2–3 cassettes) costs £4,950–£13,500 plus VAT. We fix the price in writing after a free survey.
Do you also cover Burntwood, Tamworth and Aldridge?
Yes. Alongside Lichfield, we also cover Burntwood, Tamworth and Aldridge. Each has its own page with local guide prices.
Which postcodes do you cover in Lichfield?
All of them, including WS13. Give us your postcode when you enquire and we will confirm the visit details.
Can a cassette bring in fresh air?
Many cassettes have a knock-out for a fresh-air duct, so ventilation air can be connected. The ventilation system still needs designing separately.
Do I need a suspended ceiling for a cassette?
Yes, or a ceiling void with access. In solid ceilings a wall-mounted or ducted unit is usually the better option.
