How it works in Prestwich
Check the void
We confirm void depth, grid size and any obstructions such as beams, sprinkler pipes or ductwork.
Set positions
Cassettes are placed against the lighting and grid layout so air reaches the whole space.
Hang and connect
Units are hung on drop rods, connected to pipework and the condensate line. In Prestwich we agree timings around your opening hours.
Test and commission
The condensate pump is water-tested, the system pressure tested and charged, and air directions set.
Things to check in Prestwich
Void depth
Compact cassettes typically need around 250–300 mm of clear void; larger units need more. We measure before quoting.
Conservation areas
Historic streets and listed buildings in and around Prestwich are more likely to need planning permission for outdoor units on visible elevations. We check with the local planning authority before work is booked.
Ceiling grid
Compact cassettes drop into a 600 mm grid; full-size units need the grid adapting around a larger panel.
Access and parking
Town-centre jobs in Prestwich often come down to access — loading restrictions, parking for the van and getting equipment onto a roof. We check this at survey and plan deliveries around it.
Typical premises in Prestwich
- Restaurants and cafés: dining rooms that stay comfortable next to a hot kitchen and a busy service.
- Gyms and leisure: high-capacity cooling and fresh air for gym floors, studios and changing rooms.
- Offices: zoned cooling and heating for open-plan floors, meeting rooms and comms rooms.
- Schools and education: classroom cooling, ventilation and IT room cooling, installed in the holidays.
In England, systems holding 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent of refrigerant or more fall under GB F-gas rules, with regular leak checks and records; buildings with more than 12 kW of air conditioning in total also need a periodic energy inspection.

Which postcodes do you cover in Prestwich?
All of them, including M25. Give us your postcode when you enquire and we will confirm the visit details.
How noisy are ceiling cassettes?
At normal fan speeds modern cassettes are quiet enough for offices and restaurants. We select fan speeds and unit sizes so they are not working flat out.
Do I need a suspended ceiling for a cassette?
Yes, or a ceiling void with access. In solid ceilings a wall-mounted or ducted unit is usually the better option.
